I’d had a pair of snakeskin pants from H&M since I was 17 and haven’t been able to throw them away until I could find the perfect replacement, and I finally have. From Miaou, the Beatrice snakeskin pant – they’re perfectly fit, I thought I would want to take the waist in but because these are 100% plastic (like pleather, u know) once you get moving in them they get HOT, and HOT x2 when you’re in fucking Spain. I was literally radiating heat, wasn’t great. But apart from that, I can’t live without these. If I made my H&M ones last that long, these are lasting even longer…
Took another trip to Paris last weekend…I just can’t help myself, it’s so close by and so chilled out, it’s like a perfect city break from this city. It was absolutely freezing but also the sunniest few days in Paris I’ve had for a while aaaaand they’ve got electric scooters! Probably the best way to move around a city you already kind of know. But anyway, didn’t actually take a lot of photos this time around, just got a couple on one of the breaks in between scooting and trying to find another scooter. One track mind here.
Just a few new things btw – new jeans from Re/Done and some new boots from Miista. I really love Re/Done jeans, but only ever buy them on sale when they’re around £100, and I think their sizes are just all over the place. Ordered them in 27 but I should’ve gotten 26. I think one go in the wash and they’ll be okay. The boots were such a necessity, it’s been good to get out of my air forces for a bit and they’re super comfortable and so easy to wear with jeans. Oh! And a gold chain belt, I got it from Etsy and I feel a bit of an obsession coming on…
A look into the age-old question of how the hell should u dress
Y’all I can’t even BEGIN to tell you how many times I have heated conversations with myself about how to dress, how much body to show, what it means when you show X amount of body, all these types of questions that I feel like me, as a kind-of-bodacious-bod (can u say that about urself? My measurements are 36-27-38, which is like very close to hourglass so maybe I can??) can have heated debates about beacuse clothes don’t just fall on me like they do on a lot of people. They get caught up in all sorts of places, they rise and bunch and sometimes it’s just easier to wear all skin tight everything because then I don’t need to worry about any of this! What the hell!
Anyway, all of this is just to say that on this day I just didn’t want to think about any of that, so I put on a long Reformation dress I bought to wear to a wedding, and an old tee from Grailed. The front views of this outfit are a bit questionable, but boy was it nice to just wear it and let clothes billow around. I feel like this look definitely suits a more straight up-n-down body shape, esp w/some heavy black boots for fall, but I was into it.
The swimsuit edition
Splish splash here we go again! I’m writing this late on Sunday, getting myself mentally prepared for another week at work, desperately wishing I was back here. There is nothing sweeter than stepping out and hearing the ocean, it’s one of my fav sounds 🙄
My friend’s apartment was right on the water, with a private, sometimes terrifying, entrance to the water. These were taken the last few days we were there, in my favorite Sommer Swim bikini. Sommer Swim is definitely 100% my go-to swimwear brand right now – perfect barely there cuts and really good colors. The only thing to watch out for is the sizing is a bit on the small size, I’ve gone L for top and M for the bottom, although I think for the string bikini tops I’m going for M – I like a less is more approach when it comes to swimsuits LOL.
The clothing edition
Oof y’all I’ve been slacking bad – I want to get these photos posted STAT before we go into hibernation in London. I’ve obviously been taking it really easy on here for a couple months now, but I’m trying to turn a new leaf. I want this to be more of a space for me to experiment on design than it is to be talking just about clothes – I’m not a big shopper so it really doesn’t make sense to try and force it.
In other news, I got back from Mallorca a couple weeks ago and got some film developed – I really love how these turned out but I’m going to invest in better film for the next couple rolls. I’m so curious about how much better Kodak Portra 400 really is. I use an Olympus Mju II Zoom, which is kind of annoying, so going to upgrade to a non-zoom in a bit, after I buy some new clothes. But ANYWAY, I’m rolling this out in two posts, a mix of film, digital cam and iPhone piccos. Buckle in if you please ;)
We’re starting with the daytime looks. I stayed at a friend’s apartment right on the water by Cala Major. We rented a car for a couple days, these photos are from out and about Pollença, Valledemossa and Palma. It also includes literally everything I’ve worn this summer (the dresses from Reformation & the striped top is a friend’s old APC shirt), so we’ve not missed out much on that front.
While wearing an everyday look
I’m sharing a pretty typical, everyday look today. I had a different outfit planned for this post, but was not feeling it at all. I gave it a solid 10 mins of effort, then had to go home to change. Does that ever happen to you guys? Instead I threw on a classic get-up – band tee, my Moschino quilted jean jacket and a Fruit of the Loom sweater to wear as a scarf. I love wrapping a sweater around my neck and pretending I’m either a preppy frat boy or a 35-yr old mother on my way to pick up my kids from golf camp. It’s fun to play around.
Given the sheer amount of times I wear this jacket, I’m surprised that it’s only the second time I’ve shared this on here. I got this for £30 in a charity shop two years ago, and I’ve hardly taken it off since. I have two goals for this blog – buy smarter and share more. I might be sharing the same piece for years to come, but at least it’ll be totally genuine.
I’m also loving this flash photography, I have a feeling it’ll be back every once in a while. We have a new creative director at work who’s all about trying everything out, change this and change that, and I’m kind of inspired to try that here. I’m excited to see what’s to come!!

I have a thing for leather trenches & old Valentino
Trench coats seem to be a bit of a hit or miss for people, but it’s a definite conditional hit for me. There are some sickass trenches out there, ahem this Margiela raw hemmed stunner, but you’d be hard pressed to find me in a basic, more “classic” trench. Hence, the leather trench, an easy way to update a pretty standard look. I’ve worn my black one (see it in a post here) to death in the past two years, to the point where it’s lost any coolness I used to think it has, so when my sister gave me this one, which incidentally was passed down to her from my aunt, I couldn’t say no! I love the western belt detailing on the back and the bathrobe-like closure – anything to give me a defined waist is a win in my book.
There’s a few new items here amidst my overworn AF1s and cargos, like my mom’s very 2004-ish Valentino bag. She wore this a lot when we were living in Paris, and all I can remember is that it clearly doesn’t close very well seeing as she was pickpocketed at least four times in one year. But! I just love it, and I carry my card in my coat and my phone in hand, so really good luck to whoever tries to pick my pockets. I’m wearing new Retrosuperfuture sunglasses too, and since I’ve been back to London, I’ve stubbornly been plopping these on my face, trying to pretend it’s a foggy pink out, instead of a foggy grey. Power of positive thinking, no?
Back in LA, wearing all Lacausa <3
Back in August my sister and I took some photos for her friend’s brand, Lacausa, and here we are, doing part 2 in San Onofre after a bit of surfing and food. Looking super happy here – nothing like a bit of sun and sand after a couple cold months in London. I’m back in LA for the holidays and I could not be happier about it!! We were sent the Uniform trousers, ultra hi-waist, ultra flattering, and their Cameron blouse, the perfect amount of sheer and flared sleeves. The Adidas slides are a bit 2014, but I think a little heeled sandal or boot would make it work for winter. I can’t wait to wear this top to death, there’s nothing I love more than a shirt with only two buttons buttoned. Overall, A+ on cut and quality.
New in : bodysuit & energy
I’ve recently had a bit of a breakthrough with my mindset lately, and I could not be more relieved. I started my blog purely to work on photography, image composition and digital design – generally to do what I do at work, but with a bit more freedom – but the past few months I’ve been super bogged down by the numbers! The engagements, the page views, the followers, etc…It put a huge huge damper on everything I did and worst of all, I absolutely hate agonising over Instagram even though I knowwww it’s a big part of the whole thing.
It’s hard trying to grow a passion project as pouring all your free time into a project and not seeing it grow as fast as you’d like is really disheartening, and I definitely felt my inspiration and my drive dying because of it. I’ll be honest – I suck at Instagram and I know I’m a bit silly in disregarding it, but there’s a fakeness there that I’m not into. I’d rather follow people than follow blogs or accounts that try and make content from nothing.
That being said, since I stopped caring so much about the numbers and have tapped back into actively pursuing the creativity of it, I feel so much more invigorated. I’m not sure if you’ve noticed, but I changed the typography a bit, widened the page so I can play around with the layout more and display images larger – all things I truly care about.
Now, another thing I care about – heattech turtlenecks from Uniqlo. They are a total godsend for a girl who hates layering. I got this Solace London bodysuit in their sample sale a couple weeks ago, and I’m wearing it backwards here as the actual band that’s meant to go over your boobs would definitely not work for mine. I love the cut-out detail on the back though – I feel it adds something different and I cannot wait to wear it in summer w/bare skin peeking out. I wish I picked up other things from the sale, but I think it’s all old Solace, the new pieces are SO MUCH BETTER. Gotta keep my eyes peeled for more sample sales in the future ;).
